I have the same apps loaded on my cheap 400 dollar Windows 7 notebook and it runs 100% perfect. After that major crash I had in Nov 2010, I have never had any sort or errors on it.

Its a dual core Intel T4500 2.3GHz chip, can run almost everything on it. The new one is an i5. So it's got nothing to do with the processors, its got to be some sort of a software bug.

I remember having a problem about 2 years ago with a new version of AVG that came out. I had that installed on one of my Win XP machines. After installing, it did the same thing, the hard drive would not stop working. I uninstalled the software and it was back to normal. I went to NOD32.
