Have to agree with Doug on that. Myriad Fed govs for the past few weeks have been telling us the economy is improving, possibly bottoming, etc. etc. Once the excitment settles down, people are either going to think they were a) just-plain lying or b) saw something new that has "scared" them.

Either way, it's a credibility problem for the Fed going forward, imho.

I will say this, though: They did a masterful job of dampening (i.e. killing) expectations for this intermeeting cut, which I think they'll ultimately regret.
