AIRNET COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVES $1M IN NEW ORDERS; MARCH, 2002 ORDERS NOW TOTAL APPROXIMATELY $13M BUSINESS EDITORS/TECHNOLOGY WRITERS MELBOURNE, FLA.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MARCH 21, 2002--AIRNET

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

07:59 ET MELBOURNE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2002--AirNet
Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:ANCC.Q), the technology leader in
base station products for wireless communications, today announced
that two new and two existing customers have placed orders for
approximately $1M in AirNet equipment including the award winning
AdaptaCell(R) Broadband, Software Defined Radio and AirSite(R)
Backhaul Free(TM) base stations. The two new unnamed customers chose
the AirNet solution because neighboring operators who have deployed
AirNet systems presented ideal partnering and inter-working
opportunities. In addition, Adams Telecom and Guam Wireless, two
current AirNet customers, continue to grow their businesses by adding
new service areas and expanding capacity in existing ones.
"We have now announced approximately $13M in new orders in the
last two weeks clearly demonstrating that AirNet continues to gain
momentum," said Glenn Ehley, president and CEO of AirNet. "We are
receiving these expansion orders and new customer orders because
AirNet products afford operators cost-effective systems that deliver
highly reliable solutions which are scalable to meet operators'
immediate needs and lay the foundation for profitable expansion."
"AirNet's products have endured the toughest quality tests
imaginable in Guam," said John Wu, vice president of operations for
Guam Wireless. "AirNet's base stations were unaffected, after a 7.0
earthquake devastated much of Guam last October. Our system stayed in
service and helped support disaster recovery services for our
residents. In addition, we are also able to install and have a
complete AirNet base station operational in a matter of minutes. We
are pleased to have the opportunity to come back and purchase our
expansion requirements. AirNet's cost effectiveness, high availability
products and quality control keep us coming back."
