Steve, I know the EPS is in the bag, for Q4, I posted this a while ago. I understand your CPQ situation. A split means you get to play in the CPQ game again. It will probally be FEB '97.
They don't need a Q1 '97 increase over Q4'96. I stress need.(yes,want) It would be nice, but the emphasis is on prior year.
Remember, they held back in Q3, so there are lots of profits to report. I've been postulating that we'll see EPS of $1.87-$2.00 for Q4. It now looks even stronger to be closer to $2.00.
CPQ locks in consumer channel programs and purchase orders 90-120 days out. The street will value CPQ in the next two weeks based on the assumption that Q4 AND Q1 are bagged. Big runnup, then some profit taking, and back up.No major downside possibility until April '97. LF |
