BusinessWeek (issue 8/4/97) article "Don't Worry, Be Bullish" has Ascend as one of the cheapest stocks in the market (4th) according to a valuation model developed by DAIS Group. Some of the other stocks listed are questionable though. They include Boston Chicken & Republic Ind. The model seems to be a derivation of discounted cash flow but then does a 1 year forward valuation. Projected a 1 year gain of 142% given a beginning price of 52. Love to see it but unlikely. However, I would agree that we'll see at least 80 by yr end if nothing goes wrong. Big IF but 40x next yrs earnings is not outrageous for a company like this. Short FORE, buy ASND on a cash-neutral basis...
