"thought I would never be able to get DSL. Come to find out that Phoenix Networks (through Rythyms) is offering it."

Maybe this kind of thing helps to explain why RTHM is smoking right now. Quite by accident, playing the news potential of the upcoming DSL conference, I bought 10 calls on WSTL and 10 calls on RTHM, (already long 2,000 shares and 20 calls on AWRE) hoping to play a wider angle on the DSL market. Then, last week, a Merrill Lynch report crossed my desk at work. They prefer RTHM to AWRE, projecting 30% growth in revenues for AWRE and 100% growth for RTHM. This may or may not be true, but I found it interesting that ML was more into RTHM, so I went long another 20 RTHM calls. Maybe the basis for that difference is RTHM's choosing to bypass the telco's infrastructure and install one of their own. (RTHM up over $5 yesterday).

I find it hard to believe that with the revenue potential involved, and now with fact that they can be cut out of the market, the phone companies will sit on their asses much longer. jb.
