I had a sister who left Texas in the 60s and immigrated with her family to Australia. Too many of "those people!" were moving into good neighborhoods and getting uppity.

She found it to be like moving into mid-america in the 30s. Loved it for a while. Until the socialized medicine almost killed her husband and the school system limited her children. She is now a happy retiree in Houston.

I think our relationship with Australia is closer now than at any time since WWII.
