The easy way to deal with WOW. first filter the database down to those stocks you will deal with. you might look at stocks ATR(21)>.84, and a volume filter 180 day average>80000. now you may have 2000 stocks, don't put it out in dir. just use it for input into your favorite scan, maybe a breakout scan, MACD,or MA. This might reduce you to a dir with <255. run this scan each day. your input scan can be run once a week.

if you have no intentions of trading stocks under 10 or over a certain amount, volume level, QRS rating, Float, and etc. don't look at them. the scan everyday runs fast only looking at your type stock

now you can built a list of favorites, by manual input. a good place of indices and etc. Again, you can probally keep these to <255. so you end up with 2-3 dir to look at, and can be scanned each day. Do most of your scans in the faster QP environment. Use WOW chart for S/R, line study, and etc.
