Ken: "Just remember that it's not real until it's in cold, hard cash... ;)" I just HATE this sentiment, though I must admit you have plenty of company.

The value of your investments is JUST as real as the value of your cash. BOTH can go up or down. When a stock you own goes up you have made money, plain and simple. When it goes down you have ALREADY lost that money, not just if you sell. The only thing selling does is force you to RECOGNIZE the gain/loss for tax purposes.

"2) Why would an OEM leave money on the table by installing a ZIP
instead of a floppy?"

This is MUCH to simplistic, Ken. The current batch of OEM agreements puts Zip drives in a few, mostly high-end multimedia machines. OF CORSE it's too early for anyone to put Zips in every machine. These OEMs are trying to ADD VALUE to their high-end.

In time, the high-end machines become the mainstream, and finally the low-end mahcines. In time, Zip drives will be included in more and more computers sold.

Look at the history of the CD-ROM drive. At first it was only an expensive add-on. Then, it became standard in high-end multi-media machines. Now, it is standard equipment in all but the lowest of low-end junk. I expect the Zip drive to follow this pattern.
