Hi Don,

Re: For all practical purposes, the checks and balances built into the Constitution of the United States to protect the rights and freedom of Americans no longer exist.

I read an interesting statistic a couple of days ago. The net number of votes it took to swing 3 key Senatorial races in 2002 amounted to about 45,000 votes. This country is extremely evenly divided. I was amazed that voters wouldn't do as they'd done in the past, such as in 1994, when they voted to put checks & balances in against Clinton when he got a bit too audacious with his single payer health plan.

Giving the Republicans carte blanche may result in more hunger among Democrats in 2004. At least I hope so. I know I'm far more politicized. I attendeed a Howard Dean for Prez "Meetup" last night. We had about 15 people in attendance. I compare this to the year 2000, when I got involved in a small way in the waning weeks of the campaign.

Re: The intensity of the propaganda and lies targeted at Americans by the Bush administration dwarfs anything I've ever seen.

If the FCC ruling isn't modified by Congress and passed over a Presidential veto, it can only get worse.
