catch 22 on IE 8 On one of my computers I decided to try Internet explorer 8 This is easy. I went to the MSFT download page and began the download. Halfway through the download I see a message that previous copies of Internet Explorer are being removed. Good, I want a clean copy. At the very end of the download I see a message that says "download failed". So I try to redownload IE 7 and see a message that says "cannot download IE 7 because you have a newer version of IE on this computer. I also get a link on my desktop that says "IE troubleshooter" But this link does not work because there is no IE that will open up for trouble shooting. I also tried a program called Revo Uninstaller to uninstall all traces of IE. This was no help. With this king of technology Microsoft will drive customers to other OS's and browsers. Some programs and downloads will run better on IE than they will on Firefox. (Dell driver downloads for example). Goggle Chrome has its own set of limitations and will not work well with some financial programs. Any solutions to the IE 8 problem would be appreciated.
