Size of the cache also is dependent on the ability of the software to manage the cache. There are optimal cache sizes, depending on traffic, capacity, and the nature of writes. I have not read BlueArc's specs yet, but clustered configurations with distributed cache is more effective than one big cache. The cache can become the bottleneck.
