Signs of "domestic" abuse

The abuser will:

- cut the victims off from family and friends

- make the victims Ask permission to go anywhere or to meet and socialize with other people

- dictate what their victims may wear

- cut off finances and/or ability to have one's own income

- engage in unfounded accusations and name calling

- increasingly throw temper tantrums

- have acute episodes of major mental illness

- announce threats or plans for hurting others or their livelihoods

- say things that are meant to strike fear in another person

- even go so far as to traumatize children just to get their way
