The last time a Canadian political party overreached itself through arrogance, (yes it was the Liberals), was during the 1956 pipeline debate. They were blown away come the next election.

This time it's worse, it's both the Liberal and the NDP parties.

And the offense is much worse. Both parties have declared war on the working class - more accurately, on all citizens.

Trudeau and Freeland won't be able to stop themselves and will visibly revel in their newfound powers. (Trudeau is a bully and Freeland has a political tin ear).

And Singh, the NDP leader, will follow along because he's a socialist who wants to punish those uppity workers. (His own cultural and religious community will turn against him and possibly against his party, as well).

Western Canada and much of Ontario and Quebec will not forgive them come the next election. I don't know about the Maritimes but I suspect by the time the next national vote rolls around, they're gonna feel very grinchy towards Libs and NDP.
