Hey Sid,

I just want to try to counter your argument about other car companies not choosing Ballard because they don't want to be forced to buy Daimler engines. BALLARD IS IN A NON-EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT WITH DAIMLER AND COULD AT ANY TIME FORM THE SAME TYPE OF JOINT VENTURE WITH ANY OTHER CAR COMPANY. Companies will choose the best and most profitable technology. If they choose fuel cells and do not want to have to spend a fortune on creating their own, they will work with another company. At the present time Ballard is furthest ahead. Cost-benefit analysis would mean that if they make a decision to build fuel cell engines they would choose to work with Ballard and create their OWN engines for their own automobiles, and WILL NOT buy Daimler-Ballard engines. They could buy Daimler-Ballard cells, but I agree with you that this is probably not the wisest decision.

Just out of curiousity, what is your occupation, or are you retired?
