twister, I can tell you are not a very forward thinker and like Microslop you are not listening to what the average consumers wants and demands.
In case you forgot they just want to turn the box on and run applications. If you can tell me that they can do this with Microslop products then I know you are full of BS.

This is the reason why Siemens wants Microslop CE.

Siemens Nixdorf's NetPC

Netpc is MS answer to the NC. If the NetPC doesn't run Java then poor old Siemens is going to be in big trouble if they plan to use it for set top TV boxes.
The only hope MS has if they open up Windows OS and get it ISO approved then maybe they can stop the flood of software developers jumping ship to Java but then again MS will lose its monopoly if it does this. Either way I think MS loses. When is the last time MS came up with a innovative idea instead of knocking off somebody else?

Java is very immature right now but the future is yet to determine if it will stay that way. My guess is that in a year or so MS will be on the Java bandwagon or else successfully fragment it. The up coming law suit is very important to stop MS from fragmenting it.
If MS doesn't jump on board they could always go into selling real estate in Florida. I'm sure with their proven FUD abilities they could sell a pile of swamp land.
