When you lump all old white guys into the same group, you are being a racist and an age-ist. The vast majority of old white guys didn't keep anyone subdued. For the most part, they are simply struggling to survive along with everyone else. Because I fall into the category of "old white guy" does not mean that I was automatically in power and abusing people. And nor am I responsible for the actions of other old white guys.
The women in muslim cultures are every bit a party to the socialization process that keeps women subjugated.

there is no republican war on women. There is a conservative war on socialism and a decent attempt to keep liberal sociopaths from destroying the few protections we have left. But any war on women that is presented is simply a fabrication.
The women know what they are doing and not only will fight back, they will win; and then appropriately castrate the ones where necessary-lol. there you go again, putting all women in a nice pretty box where they all think the same, just like blacks and latinos. Not only are you a racist, you are a sexist. Women are a powerful force in conservative politics. We even and a woman run for vice president a couple of years ago.
The men would not let the women get self actualize. Look at the ME for a good example.
Those evil men and their nasty testosterone.....if only men were more like women, right? You don't think that maybe the culture was largely defined by what was practical at the time? You are aware that men and women aren't equal, right? There are some very serious physiological difference that helped to define gender roles throughout time. But as technology changes, so do those roles. This wasn't some deliberate nefarious plan by the XYs. It was survival. But some roles will never change. Women are going to continue to have babies. And they are going to generally be the more dominant nurturers in the family. I'm not saying that because I think women belong in the kitchen raising kids, I am saying that because it is how we evolved.
Now that the women in the west and to a lesser degree around the world, have equal educations, and opportunities with men, they are kicking men's asses.

It turns out that, whatever increase in college degrees for women is offset by the fact that many still end up never entering or leaving the workforce. Many women go for those liberal arts degrees that have few job openings and even fewer job openings that pay well. A degree in women's studies or non verbal communication through dance, offers very limited job opportunities. As long as women have babies and feel that horrible urge to nurture their children, there will be an imbalance in the workforce. I know, I know, it's horrible that women are burdened with having babies and then being forced by oppressive men to care about them, but it's reality.
The world of technology will be ruled by women and whomever controls the technology controls the world!
There are some very good female engineers out there. But there is a reason that fewer women are attracted to engineering and scientific studies. And it has nothing to do with men forcing them to like pink and play with dolls.
And on top of that the old white guys are alienating minorities with voter suppression, and the kids with just being mean and stupid.
