"I would consider a young woman to be capable of breaking off a session of heavy petting if she had reason to resist coitus."

We aren't talking about a romantic date...

The earlier position was that any kind of sexualized contact is prohibited in the profession. If one or both of the participants becomes sexually charged or feels at risk of that, then the professional is charged with cutting off the therapy ... not doing so was termed "unethical" and an abuse of the position.

The 18 year old was competent to make a choice and did make a choice. She intitiated the sexual contact and had no desire to break it off at the time. She was not of a professional age of maturity and understood the dynamics of the episode differently years later when she herself was at a professional age. She now abhors such behavior in a professional setting. ... She resents her part in it.

The question has several levels, not just the one you posed.

"Why should I assume that the woman is less competent to make a choice in this circumstance?"

An 18 year old woman or man is able to make a choice about turning their sex switch on. ... Non-question.

Should there be sexually charged sessions in a massage therapy setting. The ethical guidelines say "no" and that it is encumbant on the therapist to manage the situation to meet ethical guidelines. Are the expectations for the setting realistic or as mojo claims wrought with undue risk.

Is there evidence that the ethical guidlines in this setting are somewhat fluid? You indicated that, especially when the episode is consented, they are less than stone.

Is there evidence that participating clients, later resent this fluidity? You appear to question the report on "devastating harm." Ok, we disagree, but that doesn't change the notion that these encounters seem to be somewhat pervasive in the industry. ... not 100% as the sex gods solon, charleymane, etc. have testified but at least common.
