Equiipment rental companies. Almost got scared out of HRI, but held on. Whew..
Have several companies in the sector. Started with United Rentals. Made several mistakes as often happens. Sold my position but kept a small stub. Ha. Have only 8 shares now, but up over $4000 on those (as of today, anyway). Who knows how much gains I could have got if only I actually knew the value of what I had and took action on it.
Instead of adding to HRI, I started buying other companies in the sector. Holding small positions in H&E Equipmment services (HEES) and Herc Holdings (HRI). These two also dropped mid year but have come back somewhat. I have established a tracking position in Ashtead (ASHTY), and posted about it in April. Also I have a tracking position in WSC - WillScot Mobile Mini Holdings. The company leases modular space and portable storage units. ALTG: More a business-to-business operation than to retail customer: "The company operates a branch network that sells, rents, and provides parts and service support for various categories of specialized equipment, including lift trucks and other material handling equipment, heavy and compact earthmoving equipment, crushing and screening equipment, environmental processing equipment, cranes and aerial work platforms, paving and asphalt equipment, and other construction equipment and related products." I have been adding shares as stock has fallen.
I'm also holding shares in some companies that sell or rent specialized equipment to oil drillers. |
