Dunno…. Someone noted that all the leaders we are fighting have a tendency to go mad. Saddam Hussein, Bashar Assad, Kaddafi… mullah Omar, in his day. Putin. They all tend to go nuts. Woke never Trumpers will tell you now that the Don was as crazy as a bed bug. And there will be no lack of psychiatric associations willing to take a vote and confirm all that… the lemmings.

It’s an old philosophical dilemma - do individuals create, propel, define history — or is it the other way around, and it’s circumstances that help the “needed” personality to come forward. Quite clearly, both sides of this dialectic play a part. But - excessive personifying of wars and other major events just hollows them out. I said it 100 times, and will say it again - Putin is just the paper pusher-in-chief of the moment. The real problem is the extra 1500 miles of direct contact between Russia and NATO.

It’s a mad MAD idea.
