I gave a list of what the current wholesale prices for the DLT7000 drives are here in Canada (Just click on my name and you can find the post). The price has dropped almost 20% in close to a year. Historically that is the type of drop one would expect from any high end product over time. Assuming QNTM's ramping up of volume has occurred as expected, the the impact on their net margin should not be too substantial. On the lower end drives though I think here has been more damage to prices (probably because of competition from EXBT and SONY). This is why they are probably trying to move the market up to the DLT7000 from the 4000 devices. About 6 months ago I remember them mentioning a Terastor product being due out at about this time, hope we hear an announcement soon.
