Rich Vermeire is a skilled and aggressive litigator with over 23 years' experience in a wide variety of trial matters. His practice focuses on general commercial litigation with an emphasis in securities and corporate litigation. A significant portion of Mr. Vermeire's practice is comprised of white collar criminal defense, and he has tried a number of high profile criminal cases in federal and state courts. A distinguished public career included positions as an Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C. and Colorado and as Chief Trial Counsel for the Denver Regional Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission. In the latter position, Mr. Vermeire prosecuted numerous penny stock fraud cases.
Mr. Vermeire has lectured on many trial-related topics. He was instrumental in developing the United States Attorney General's Advocacy Institute, where he taught trial skills with the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. to newly appointed Assistant United States Attorneys.
Mr. Vermeire is admitted to practice in Colorado, New Jersey and the District of Columbia, and before the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Vermeire was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He is an avid oarsman who has sculled on many of Colorado's lakes and reservoirs. |
