REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--SaskTel has been on the forefront to ensure
that the business operations will not be affected by the Year
2000. SaskTel has been actively addressing the Year 2000
situation within its computer systems and business environment
over the last several years. With the assessment and planning
phases completed, SaskTel is currently in the process of
addressing those systems that will be affected by the Year 2000.

SaskTel has selected LGS Group Inc. to provide conversion services
to ensure that mission critical systems are Year 2000 compliant.
LGS' on-site team completes detailed analysis prior to submission
to the automated factory conversion process. This process
renovates SaskTel's mainframe systems and databases for Year 2000
operation. LGS will be converting approximately 2 million lines
of code.

"As is the case with other high-technology companies, the Year
2000 issue poses a significant problem for SaskTel," said Linda
Yeo, General Manager, SaskTel Information Technology Management.
"LGS was chosen by SaskTel to assist us because of the experience
they had gained dealing with Year 2000, and because they are able
to complete the conversion in a timeframe that ensured our
customers would not be affected."
