<<To All: We appear to have a bit of a boomlet going in Defense and Security stocks. While not as much fun as the Y2K and internet stuff it is the only game in town. However if you are new to the market and in particular talk boards you should understand that people talk in code on them.
Here are some common phrases and the actual meaning:
'Word on the Street is that Buffet is buying tons of this one.~~I am capable of making up anything.
'I am in at 10.'~~The current value of my shares is $10 below the market value.
'Looks like some accumulation going on.'~~The stock has traded three times the number of shares in the entire float today.
'I am just going to take my shares and tuck them away.'~~I can feel those shares being tucked now.
'Shorts are panicking now!'~~The stock is dropping so fast they can't possibly get an uptick to short more.
'Institutions are buying.'~~Anyone buying should be institutionalized.
'Dips are buying opportunities.'~~Not just dips are opportunities, morons, idiots, the gullible, drunks, anyone you can get to buy is an opportunity to unload.
'Everything is pointing go long on this stock.'~~I not only asked my Magic 8 Ball, I called Psychic Hotline.
'Just wait until the company announces their contracts.'~~Wait, while I get out of this dog.
'We should stop responding any more to negative and shorts posts, I am only going to respond to positive posts about this company.'~~I think we need to start holding hands.
'I will see you at a hundred.'~~The $25,000 I put in this company is now at $251.15 and dropping.
'I called the company, this one is solid.'~~I called investor relations, they are still in business the answering machine was on.
'This company is the next Microsoft.'~~I have relapsed into drug abuse yet again.
'I am backing up the truck to load up shares.'~~I just lost my house and pickup to a margin call.
'There is a squeeze going on.'~~When I bought this thing I never expected it to grab me there.
'I am calling in my certificates.'~~At current value the paper they are printed on has more worth as mulch.
'This is just a head fake.'~~God! It dropped 20 points.
'The MM's are just shaking out the weak hands.'~~Smart money just left.
'It is going down because of illegal shorting.'~~That earnings report was appalling.
'I just use talk boards to swap information, no one in their right mind would use them for investment advice.'~~Fair warning, I am going to spew some real garbage now in hopes you will buy this dog.
'I checked my TA, this one is getting ready to explode.'~~This is the literal truth.
'This one is going to the moon!'~~Care to join the lunatics?
'Shorts are just spouting a bunch of nonsense on this board.'~~I can't understand those SEC filings at all.
