All,
I just got done reading the report sent to me by Computer Concepts (NASDAQ:CCEE) regarding their Year 2000 fix. Frankly, I am really impressed. I didn't expect them to have such a well developed prouct. The name of their product is HotDate 2000/Test-SST, and it has rolling clock capabilities to simulate the year 2000 while using a test bed of information to protect production data, thus providing a capability to process within a common LPAR (logical partition).

Accordind to CCEE, this capability will be a "must have" requirement for nearly all users, evidenced by the use of HotDate 2000/Test-SST within many Global 2000 accounts. Computer Concept's main competitors are Viasoft, Compuware, BMC, and Zitel, but according to the company they cannot match HotDate's clock simulation and assessment testing. The report goes on to say that they are the most cost effective option available.
I am not sure as to what the total earnings for Computer Concepts are, however, the revenue from its Softworks subsidiary (CCEE owns it 100%) was 11.6 million last year, and was founded in 1977. Softworks is expected to grow very rapidly in the next few years because of its Y2K tools.
The report even surmises that their competitor, BMC, is likely to attempt to acquire Softworks, due to the complementary nature of its products with BMC's weak Y2K products.
Softworks has increased its sales force recently and broadened its support base by opening eight new regional offices. The report also goes on to say that 80 Fortune 100 companies have acquired their product to accelerate the Y2K process.

I will have more on CCEE soon!

Happy Investing!
