NTAP is predominantly NAS networked attached storage, but is an OSN innovator open storage standards network initiative that will converge with SAN storage area networks, like emc does, so even though emc also is trying to step into the networked attached storage, that is, networked appliances, NTAP (Network Appliance) has the advantage because its easier and cheaper to go from NAS to SAN than from SAN to NAS. Its a question of NTAP having the distribution and sales channels as one would expect that they would for the delivery of NTAP NAS storage solutions, a big big sales barrier for companies like emc and emlx and brcd etc, in their shrinking and more competitive SAN market share space, whereas NTAP is the CLEAR DOMINANT NAS player. Despite these odd percentages of total storage market share, STORAGE is such a GROPWTH area that all these players will do well extremely well earnings wise, maybe lower, but still better than any other technology sector, in good times and in bad, they will survive and thrive, and that is the real point, which you of course already know.
