That's a pretty interesting statement, considering that AMD's own x86-64 extensions (the so-called K8) won't be here for at least 18 months, give or take a month or two. It's even possible that McKinley will arrive before the K8.

Then again, I guess AMD could always call the x86-64 processor a "12th generation processor." Would that make it a K12? (Insert pun about grade school here.)
