SbH~~ Seems that President Bush is getting a bad rap re Stem Cell research. He is the FIRST President that has supported this funding by the Government. There is NO restriction as to what Private Business can do as far as funding.

No restriction at all.

FY 2002 To FY 2003 Saw 132% Increase In Funding For Embryonic Stem Cell Research. “Provided FY 2003 funding of $24.8 million for human embryonic stem cell research, an increase of 132 percent from FY 2002; in FY 2003 the Administration has strongly supported promising research using adult stem cells by providing< $190.7 million for human non-embryonic stem cells (adult stem cells, including those from cord blood, placenta, and bone marrow).” (U.S. Department Of Health And Human Services, “Embryonic Stem Cell Research,” Fact Sheet, 7/14/04)

Truth be told, I'd rather that the stem cell research should be more open, so I'd agree with Kerry on that one, and disagree with Bush.
