re:"Silicon Graphics looks to MIPS to cover Merced delays" What do you expect from a company that is trying to spin MIPS back out. In addition, until they get there pipeline filled with the advanced IA64 stuff they must keep current customers feeling safe. I doubt a 6 month delay in Merced production is the issue here.
