Sam, thanks for the re-post. What I don't get, is if simple math makes this such a bad purchase then why would such a smart guy (Del) do this deal. The two sides of this equation don't make sense to me. One of them is wrong: Either Del is way more stupid than everyone gives him credit for, or the VSGN purchase price (cost to Borland shareholders) is overstated. I guess I vote for the Del side of the equation. The fact that the share price is only down to levels of one month ago, before market turbulence took hold, supports the view that the VSGN deal is not quite the boner that your AOL poster sees it as being. For now, I am buying April calls at slightly reduced prices.
