Is there any doubt that if Ukraine had one or two nuclear missiles, Russia would not have considered attacking the country? They should have kept a few, just as other economically stressed nations have such as Pakistan.
Pakistan never “kept” any nukes - they developed and built their own.

As for the preceding point - there is simply NO WAY the US and the EU would condone a corrupt thugocracy like Ukraine getting nukes. They’d be more dangerous than Iran. Their own oligarchs would have never allowed it. It’s is also completely obvious that had they obtained some, somehow - or be close to it — the reaction from Russia would have been far more decisive.

When Prez Z generously offers that as part of a peace settlement Ukraine would “refrain” from becoming a nuclear power…. it’s, basically, a silly joke. I’d even say, an insult. (Assuming, of course, he has any idea what he’s talking about).
