DRAM Prices Continue Freefall

07/23(Mon)19:17

The price of 64-megahertz DRAMs has fallen below manufacturing costs, while the price of 128-megahertz and 256-megahertz DRAMs continues to plummet.

The price of 256-megahertz DRAMs has dropped by a whopping 84 percent from the beginning of this year and hovers around 4.39 dollars per unit.

The price of 128-megahertz DRAMs dropped by 70 percent from the beginning of this year to 1.72 dollars per unit.

As Samsung Electronics announced that the company will lower the price of 256-megahertz DRAMs, it is expected that 128-megahertz DRAM will soon become extinct in the market.
