Futile, but interesting: House committee probes energy markets-DJ Dow Jones learned Friday that a U.S. House oversight committee is looking into speculation involving the energy markets, including issues such as the role of investment banks and hedge funds. Federal lawmakers will probe into speculation in the market that blame investment banks and hedge funds for "playing a pivotal role in pushing" crude oil contract prices to record highs. According to witnesses, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing on May 21, with more meetings to come.
