Hi all; RDRAM system costs while memory is cheap...

"Continuity modules" are required in Rambus systems for placement in unused sockets. So when you buy a nekkid RDRAM motherboard, they are either going to ship the continuity modules to you (and raise the price of the motherboard accordingly), or you're going to have to buy them yourself.

The continuity modules cost $12 on Yahoo store:

RAMBUS Continuity Module
Allows a single RAMBUS RIMM memory module to be installed in a system rather than in pairs. This device acts as the second module.

Since the P4 motherboards has pairs of RDRAM channels, you're going to have to buy these in pairs. That's $24. But 128MB of PC133 memory is only $29 from the same source:

128MB PC133 CL3 SDRAM
Kingston 128MB, 168-pin PC-133 Certified Non-ECC SDRAM. For Motherboards Supporting 133Mhz Bus Speeds. CL3.

In other words, for an extra $5, you're going to get 128MB of memory in the PC133 system, and those are retail prices from the same vendor. They want $89 for 128MB of PC800 RDRAM, but only $38 for 128MB of PC2100 DDR SDRAM:
