Thanks for pointing out the good works of the Nature Conservancy and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. I'd heard of the former, but not the latter.

I'm encouraged to read that the high jinxs of the Sierra Club and other "environmental" groups are being analyzed and challenged more frequently by individuals interested in bringing a measure of fairness to environmental issues.

For too long these groups have run roughshod on the rest of us, and have purposfully distorted some of the facts as they exist. I don't doubt that there are millions of honest individuals who are concerned about our environment. And since the very first Earth Day, environmental groups have made us more aware of our capacity to destroy nature. I know many Americans who certainly take our environment and responsible stewardship seriously, but I, along with others are slowly coming to realize that they sometimes just go too far.

It is the people who operate under the pretense that they represent all of us and have managed to find themselves in positions of power, and up till now, have generally had the last word, that are starting to be questioned. Some of the tactics used seem similar to unions with the objective of gaining as much political power as possible.

I've recently read that opposition groups are joining large environmental organizations like the Sierra Club, are running for executive office, and are presenting a real challenge to those who favor the status quo. I didn't realize any of this until I became familiar with and used the Internet. Like political elections, for years the MSM wrote their articles of support (more like hysteria and distorted truth) as if what ever came out of the Sierra Club's mouth was gosple.

They must hate it that they are actually being questioned and that some of their "science" is being refuted.
