$15 seems like a nice target for 2018-20. Can't do it in one fell swoop.

"Now, what about when they start complaining that $30K/year is not enough to live on .. especially not in New York or Los Angeles ??
When does it stop?"

When inflation stops, or when the ghost of XMas Past visits all the Fortune 500 execs. I can't speak to NYC or LA, but SF and SJ already have $10+ minimum wages. Calif's MW goes up in July and again Jan 2016.

"If they want to make $15/hr then they should refuse to work at $8/hr jobs at McDonald's.
They should become an Emergency Medical Technician and make $15/hr."

If they could afford to support themselves, and maybe their parents and maybe their kids while becoming EMTs, the ones who are smart enuf to handle the courses prolly would, but... they can't even support themselves now without public assistance.

"If they want to make more, .
just stay home and Trade Stocks."

If they could save enuf money to build a stash of gambling money, they wouldn't be needing food stamps and Medicaid to get by.
