You're probably correct, anyhow. I was generalising about the major (most widely followed) theist religions, but there must be some with a more 'liberal' approach.

I recall asking someone (here, I think) about the Pelagian 'heresy' which denied original sin, proposing that we can live a holy life by the mere power of our own determination to do so, without the aid of supernatural grace from God; an interesting belief... one can see why the early Christian church stamped that one out.
