Justifying the invasion by blaming Ukraine is wrong. A small country has the right to defend itself. If that means joining NATO, so be it. That is their right as a sovereign independent nation.

Joining NATO is a red-herring excuse for an invasion.

It reminds me of blaming the victim for rape, because she wore a short skirt. Or blaming a person for being robbed, because they walked into the wrong neighborhood.

What right does Russia have to invade?

The answer is none. They have no right, no matter what ridiculous fantasy they had in their mind that EU countries were going to invade via NATO.
