I believe DELL and CPQ have already announced they will start building computer equipped with cable modems.

Here's a January story on Compaq's offering which includes a modem that can be used either for cable connection or ADSL:
wired.com

The computers contain a modem combining digital subscriber line with cable modem hardware to access the Internet at speeds better than 1Mbps

One problem for @home in this, however, is that the machines are also set up to make in-home networks easier to set up. @home, according to many posters here and elsewhere, does not support such a configuration, but ADSL does. I'm not sure how much of an effect that will have in the long run, but offering both features in one machine seems to force the issue.
