MikeM, Allen

Thanks for filling me in. No, I did not wade too far deep
in old SI posts.

As Allen points out, if what we are talking about is a Java
based server coupled with a remote display - a browser or
a JavaOS based appliance - then I have nothing to fear. This
is just too far into the future. AFAIK, no major app is
being rearchitected to run in Java. Furthermore, if a JavaOS
came about for a thin client, ICA can be plugged into this
client too, so it can co-exist, even thrive.

Oracle 8i is a different animal. It can be the EJB server to
some JellyBelly out there on the client side - a browser or
a JavaOS thin client, completely cutting out ICA.

Once again, I have not seen anything like this, but to be
fair I have not seen a Citrix installation either. Both
might actually exist :-)

How big is the potential 8i slice of the total enterprise
apps market ?

Regards
Dinesh
