It was because of the harsh treatment and repression of the Kosovo Albanians, which was started in 1989 by Slob Milosevic. The Kosovo Albanians countered the cruel treatment by the Serbs with peaceful protests for several years. In fact, from what I have read, the Kosovo leaders adopted Martin Luther King's teachings on non violent protest. Then the treatment got worse. Peaceful coexistence between the Serbs and the Kosovars was no longer an option. So, the KLA was formed because the Kosovars had no other choice. What do they want? Probably to live in peace in Kosovo and be independent. Let's hope that they get this. Thanks for your note. It was interesting reading and provided some well thought out assumptions. It's late, and I am tired, so I intend to reread your note again tomorrow. Regards, Bob
