Michael-

For the record, because the post which seems to have caused all this nastiness was addressed to me, I want you to know that this is the impression I came away with after reading your post--
You are a man who shares the responsibility for his children's well-being and are active in all areas of their lives. You are a considerate, loving spouse who took his turn caring for a sick child. You did what most of us have done and which is advised for a child with a fever, gave the baby a tepid bath, and you made it even more comforting by holding her, also something many of us have done on numerous occasions. Dan and I spent a week shriveled up like prunes when the boys had severe cases of chicken pox at 1 and 3 in the terrible Dallas summer heat and we soaked constantly in baking soda baths with them.

You had one of those wonderful, awesome moments we occasionally are blessed with as parents, when the incredible love and protectiveness we feel for these small lives overwhelms us, when we are aware that the infant in our arms depends on us for everything, and we would do anything to protect and provide for her. They ARE special moments, the small jewels that will catch the light of memory when you look back on them after Sarah is grown.

Any other interpretation of your post indicates pretty distorted perception on the part of the reader.
