I knew a guy who grew up in Newfoundland. First job he got out of high school, late 50's early 60's, was working for the provincial liberal party doing a census for the next election, and yes, it did include all the graveyards.

Growing up on the West Coast, we all used to shake our heads at how crooked they were down East.

(Of course, in some of our "rural" ridings whether or not the pavement would continue past your property depended on your politics). ;>)
