New Republic - UGH: From today's Washington Post:

But senior Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart told reporters the campaign hopes to spend the final weeks talking mostly about domestic issues. "We're very much looking forward to Wednesday night, where it's 90 minutes of domestic issues and will really allow us to frame up what we will think will be the last . . . three weeks of the campaign," he said.

Were Lockhart et al not watching Friday night's debate? If any of them think Kerry did better during the domestic portion of the evening then they're smoking crack. Bush is on the defensive 75 percent of the time when it comes to Iraq. He's mostly on the offensive when talking about cultural issues, which is the only thing Republicans talk about when they're forced to talk domestic policy.
