So we are back to capitulating to Chinese trade warfare.
I’ve always liked the idea of free trade and honest competition. That’s the only thing that may work. Tariffs inevitably pass on the costs to the end buyer - contributing to inflation….. and they protect domestic manufacturers (and the political / regulatory classes) - rather than pressure them to become more competitive.

As far as direct war against Russia or China - my assumption is that that we’d be all dead. Every last one of us… so, yes, I’m absolutely in favor of lowering tensions… In time, we may figure out whose economy is better, but if we’re all dead, there is no point in any of it.
