OK, so maybe this is obvious, but if you hadn't noticed - this entire rally was driven by US! The successful bears. This was clearly short covering. It has a very particular signature on the charts, and when it wraps up (as it did around 10:30AM today), the prices bleed steadily. It's a case of short the rumor, buy the news (on XLNX anyway). The funds have no more money to play games with (net outflows $13B last month) and the retail investor is gradually becoming neutralized. I don't think the sheep had a whole lot to do with this one.

This was short covering, plain and simple. And there's nothing I love to short MORE than a short-covering rally.
