Anyone have any additional info on AMD's new K6 3D processor? According to their press release, it will run at 300 to 350 megahertz and will be sold in the second half of next year. amd.com Does this processor need a video accelator or is it built in? I know that Cyrix has a processor for cheap PCs (under $1,000) with built-in video accelerator. Is this a trend? If so, what is the outlook for companies such as S3 that make the add-on accelerators? Regarding recent accounting fiasco, it seems that S3 has already made its move by hiring new CFO in August. He is doing the right thing by owning up to predecessor's mistakes or lack of controls. Although 2 months seems like a long time to uncover this problem of counting inventory as sales, maybe this is reasonable because you would assume that noone would be this stupid or desperate.
