Hi Dave, you continue to amaze me with your knowledge at the forefront of technology and your timing on the cyclical stocks. I think it could be said with AIM that people should focus on a few primary stocks to make the concept work profitably. One main principle is a good company and patience.

After sitting with this one for a year, it is nice to see it start to roll. Well you missed out on those capital gains last year and now it might be a problem (TV has proposed an option), but I think your trading in a non taxable account regardless.

As one of the newest riders on the bus (since 12/98), I think it is only fair to say that people come on board to first learn the principles of long term secure trading. Then when they are secure with the knowledge they have to pick an equity to AIM or trade. It's okay to do both as long as you know the difference up front.

I think as one grows to know the market plus the educational experience they acquire in the beating, they tend to see different options at different times. What is the desired end result? Is your Ego getting in the way of you making a solid profitable long term play? Why can't we except the experience on both sides and take the ball and let it ride. I don't know, wish I did. Seams I got to make my own calls and somehow I pick looser's before they are winners and sell looser's before they become winners. That's why AIM came to pass and flourishes to this day.

My point is this. (As an example, I'm leaving the other contributors of the thread out on purpose) JZGalt you are willing to place your picks on the BB and post the end result, Tom is willing to show how well his have produced as well. Time & patience are the key for both, you both probably gain the same results in the end. Both of you did your home work and have profited from your own efforts.

In my opinion it is absolute that the thread discuss your picks as well as his. Tom once said something about Linda Kaplin buying the shares he was selling, clearly not what he intended for a new investor or any investor for that matter. So has this kept him from suggesting other AIM able stocks? Not the case at all. He has simply found the horse that makes his neck most comfortable and that is the horse he chooses to praise.:o)

Again what is my damn point. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't see enough discussion on the merits good or bad that are posted on this BB for most stock picks. Sure we throw a few symbols out and around but what about some healthy Devils advocate? Am I missing something and not paying attention. Are we so engulfed that we already individually have our mindes made up when we bring it before the BB?
JZ, Tom, Ka, Bernie, RH, D1 and all the others have an opinion. But what about a little focus and a little more discussion on the equities.

Not complaining. Got my helmet on and felt really brave tonight...

PS - Here is one I bought today. MIPS? See SEC notes:

Revenues related to sales of Nintendo 64 game players and related cartridges currently account for the substantial majority of the Company's revenue.

Contract revenue and royalties from Nintendo and NEC relating to Nintendo 64 video game players and related cartridges accounted for 81% and 78% of our total revenue for the three months ended March 31, 1999 and the first nine months of fiscal 1999, respectively, compared to 86% and 80% for the comparable periods in 1998.

WE EXPECT THAT REVENUE WE DERIVE FROM THE SALE OF NINTENDO VIDEO GAME PRODUCTS WILL DECLINE WITH THE EVENTUAL INTRODUCTION OF THE NEXT GENERATION NINTENDO VIDEO GAME SYSTEM.

We understand that the next generation Nintendo video game system will not incorporate any of our technology.

Guarantee their success?
Well, they just lost a $B contract from Nintendo, who opted for an IBM PowerPC solution.
I'm hearing rumblings that the Emotion Engine for Sony may be so large that the yields may be poor.
Then all the analysts start cheering and the stock starts dropping...
I'm with Thom- can somebody explain this company to me in a nutshell?

Steve, I was sure the Nintendo news would be bad for MIPs, but I was totally wrong!
Excuse my ignorance, but is the Sony stuff seen as offsetting the nintendo loss? I'm starting my research on MIPs- any comments you have would be appreciated.

WE MUST DIVERSIFY OUR SOURCES OF REVENUE TO OFFSET THE EVENTUAL DECLINE IN REVENUE WE DERIVE FROM SALES OF NINTENDO VIDEO GAME PRODUCTS.

WE DEPEND ON SEMICONDUCTOR COMPANIES AND DIGITAL CONSUMER PRODUCT MANUFACTURERS TO ADOPT OUR TECHNOLOGY AND USE IT IN THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL

OUR QUARTERLY FINANCIAL RESULTS ARE SUBJECT TO SIGNIFICANT FLUCTUATIONS WHICH COULD ADVERSELY AFFECT OUR STOCK PRICE.

WE ARE DEPENDENT ON THE EMERGING MARKET FOR DIGITAL CONSUMER PRODUCTS AND CONSUMER ACCEPTANCE OF THE PRODUCTS THAT INCORPORATE OUR TECHNOLOGY.
