Scientific-Atlanta Announces Two-for-One Stock Split And 33 Percent Dividend Increase

ATLANTA, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. (NYSE: SFA - news), announced today that its board of directors has approved a two-for-one
stock split of its common stock and declared a 33 percent increase to its regular quarterly cash dividend.

The stock split, to be effected in the form of a 100% stock dividend, will be payable to shareholders of record as of the close of business on March 10, 2000.
Distribution of certificates representing additional shares as a result of the stock split will be made on March 27, 2000.

The 33 percent increase in Scientific-Atlanta's quarterly dividend increases the dividend rate to $0.01 per share on the post-split shares. The cash dividend is
payable April 11, 2000 to shareholders of record as of March 28, 2000.
