You may be right, although producing the "fastest x86 in the world" has been a real coup for AMD and they could probably introduce some 750s to retain the crown and still maintain ASPs on the 700.

What might be more relevant is that Compaq/IBM might not look kindly on Athlon MHz ramping faster than they can shift their existing stocks.
